Bismarck Rural Fire Department

7,300
Square Feet

Project Overview

The Bismarck Rural Fire Department outgrew Station #2, so they were in need of a new fire station. The solution was a new 7,300 square foot fire station with a larger truck bay for equipment, additional sleeping and living quarters for crews, a workout space, office, and storage areas. A unique part of this project was the fire suppression system, using fire suppression storage tanks and a fire pump that were required because the building is being served by a rural water system.

Mechanical included an HVAC system, plumbing, gas piping, compressed air piping, truck fill stations, and rainwater removal piping.

The electrical design included lighting, power, fire alarm, and data systems.

Prairie Engineering was proud to be a part of the team for this building, and we would like to thank all the first responders at this station. Our goal is to help build better communities by designing new and/or updated facilities and memorials for first responders and others that serve our communities.
