Project Overview
McLean County Courthouse is located in Washburn, North Dakota. The 24,500 square foot facility was designed by Prairie Engineering. The three floor courthouse includes offices for county auditors, tax assessor, and states attorneys; along with jury courtroom and judge’s chamber.
As a $3.6 million project; the building contained over 30 offices, a jury courtroom, holding cells, judge chambers, and supporting spaces.
An energy efficient geothermal heat pump system was designed as part of the HVAC system. Our design also included a snowmelt system for the front and back entry sidewalks, floor heat in the basement level, complete plumbing system, and fire protection system.
The electrical design included security systems, voice and data systems, lighting, power with full emergency backup generator, and ice melt for the roof gutters.
